Kwevhos Electrical and Project Pty Ltd is a registered private company led by director Tshifhiwa Given Mukwevho, working out of Protea Glen in Soweto, Gauteng and Makhado in Limpopo. From one roof to the next
That is our own crew, on a tiled roof in Soweto, laying panels along the ridge with the hard hat parked on the tiles beside them. Behind them the neighbourhood runs all the way out to the skyline. Nothing about it is staged; it is a normal working day.
Every install starts the same way: a household or a business tired of losing power at the worst possible moment. We check the roof, size the system to what you actually use, mount the rails, run the DC safely down to the inverter, and commission it with monitoring so you can see exactly what the sun is giving back.
Then the neighbour asks. Then the one after that. That is how this company has grown: roof by roof, on work that holds up and gets signed off with a certificate of compliance.
The other side of the work
Some jobs do not fit on a roof. This one is a transformer with the medium-voltage cables being dressed up and terminated into the bushings, surge arresters set above, and most of the team on site at the same time; half of them working off ladders.
Industrial work runs on somebody else's clock. A plant, a shop, a whole block sits without power while we are on it, so the shutdown gets planned, the materials come with us, and the terminations are made right the first time. Hard hats on, and nobody alone on a live structure.
